I was looking for a phone with a decent camera, android system and nice look, this phone fit the required specifications and then some, as other reviews this phone has a beautiful screen resolution to watch your videos or movies in HD quality, sound its clear and loud, no speakers needed if your in a close room. It comes with a 6gb (class 6) sd memory card, to keep the data transfer fast. I was very happy it arrive sooner then expected, factory sealed, with everything included in the box as it is described. I was glad it was mailed in a box with enough filling to avoid any bangs it might of gotten along the way.

The screen is very nice. Sharp and clear and doesn't take finger smudges. Upgradeable to Android 4.0! I did the upgrade and it was great. The home screen has so many nice options, you can add weather, calendar, control for your wireless and control for your sound/vibrate. Built in radio is good. The CPU is fast, browser surfing is quick. there are just so many customization options, beats Iphone hands down. I went from iphone to Samsung Android (Infuse) to Sony Android. Xperia beats the Samsung to me, much more options than in the Samsung. Although this is wrt the Infuse, can't speak for the Galaxy III.

If you are buying this phone with the intention of getting root access (which you need to get rid of the ridiculous amount of bloatware this phone comes with), make sure you are getting the R800a.

If you are deciding between this smartphone and the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini i would tell you to buy the Xperia P.

This is a great phone, except it doesn't come with a front facing camera. Love the fact that its dustproof and water resistant and comes with scratch resistant screen. My problem when I got this phone was that it's headset didn't work with the phone which is both odd and frustrating since I use the headsets alot when I'm on the go. That alone makes this for me at least, a bad buy since the accessories should be compatible with it. Factory unlocked is great since I can use this phone with any carrier and it is a fast phone, haven't seen any lag times in switching screens and apps.

This phone is great for my needs, the water and dust resistance is amazing! But these guys sent me the Chinese version...I now own a Chinese wall plug for my phone...compleatly worthless. At least it charges via USB as well and it wasn't difficult to change the phone to English settings, the other plus is I now know how to use it to text Japanese, but really wish that they would have at least specified on the page because now I have to wait a week for a USA friendly plug that I ordered to come in and had to pay some extra cash for it. Other than that, this phone is gorgeous, came in great condition, and meets all the specs. Doesn't lag, nice camera, and super cute and thin!

This phone does NOT work on U.S. 3g networks or anything higher and they DO NOT specify that on the product you will have to get internet settings manually and it will only run on the EDGE network which is the OLD cell phone internet from like 10 years ago. The internet is so slow even at full bars that all the HD streaming and internet page features the phone has to offer become useless. BE AWARE OF THIS BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT ADVERTISE IT. Even though they put that it works in every state in the world they wasnt talking about the 3g network they only mean the phone usage.

I even tricked a few people when they see me sinking this on an aquarium, which they gave an "is this person insane?" look. The product really is water proof!!! & I just clean the screen with any cloth, and it leaves no scratch marks whatsoever (thus far). The camera does a good job even when it's being captured at night time even when it is pitch dark. I just adore this phone and the countless things which i can do with it (with the help of the google play apps), the processor's fast... way fast, and even faster than my Sony Tablet S when playing heavy-duty videos with a huge chunk of filesize. I will be keeping this phone for years, and I couldn't ask for anything else. Well worth the money.

All apps are going to be within the 4gb of memory on the phone. After a few weeks I went to copy new music over and it no longer recognized my music files. I followed all the trouble shooting measures and tried reformatting the sd-card and used Sony Bridge software to copy music over. The software crashed. I restored the phone and had the same issues. I'm returning the phone.

The thing about this phone is the battery lasts 5 days on a single charge without worrying about nursing the battery life like I do on my Samsung (2 days on battery). Nice size. Got this phone during a Lightning Deal and must say it was well worth the money. I like the slim profile and it's doesn't seem overwhelmingly large carrying it in my front pocket like some smartphones do. It's had no problem handling any games or apps that I've downloaded so far. However I have had an occasional "mystery restart" every once in a great while after installing/opening a brand new program. This could just be a droid software issue or possibly a needed restart to get the new app configured properly, I'm not entirely sure. Overall though I'm pretty well in love with this phone! Definitely a big step up from my previous LG Xenon!

The only draw back is that if you leave too many apps running in the background it will slow significantly. Not enough to bump it down though, especially for the price.

have been playing video games since I could hold a regular NES controller in my hands. When smart phone's first came out there was no way I was going to purchase one when my psp could do everything they could, and had quality games for it. Finally I have the best of both worlds despite what another review on amazon states. The phone works great it is loud and clear. The phone doesn't come with a really great line up of games unless your a sims fan, but it comes with perfect controls to fit all the wonderful apps. Through the android market you can find a emulator for the playstation 1, GBA, SNES, N64, ATARAI, NES, GBC, and many more. Despite the playstaion network not being on this phone through the emulators it is really easy to play all your favorite games that you already own through the emulators. I have nothing negative to say about this phone. Its not the most advanced smartphone available, but its hands down the best gaming phone available. If only the playstation Vita would double as a phone. AS ALWAYS DO NOT DOWNLOAD A ROM FOR A GAME YOU DO NOT ALREADY OWN THAT IS PIRATING.

Even that the Samsung galaxy gets all the attention as a the best smartphone, you can't go wrong with the Xperia Play. Great for gaming, as a phone, as a personal assistant, GPS, Internet, etc... Android 2.3 is an amazing system and the option to add more apps (even not validated ones) is a great plus... I already played the included games and downloaded more.. I even tried some emulators for N64 and SNES for roms of games I own (to discard any issues) and it works fantastic....

But the little problem is when I bougth this some I didn't read any specification that it was a European phone. I live in Latin Ameria and I cant use the 3G network,jusrt the EDGE and GPRS, that is really sad, is a waste of a phone. Do not buy a R800i if is meant to go to latin america, get a R800a. I googling, but I still haven't found a solution, I migth have to sell it and get another phone.

Using legally obtained ROMs and a number of pieces of emulation software, this thing is a powerhouse for reliving some of gaming's greatest moments. It may not run Jelly Bean, but Android 2.3 was totally serviceable, and lots of apps on the Google Play store work on it still. My only criticism is I wish the screen was brighter. That's it though.

Purchased a different phone from a different seller would not use this seller again.

Very sharp device. Responsive even with the Sony Skinned software. Clear audio when talking. Used on T-Mobile and Indonesian Networks. Fast downloads WiFi 4g/3g. I thought it would be uncomfortable to hold due to shape. Bit the device fits very nice in hand. Listened to music while in the shower. Awesomely clear dispite the reviews stating the sound was muffled. What do you expect from a sealed device. All in all very impressed with the screen the responsiveness and the overall functioning of the phone. Kudos Sony.

This phone is awesome. It's really slim with a large screen and so nice looking. Everyone compliments me on this phone. It takes gorgeous photos too! The only thing though, I have a problem with is the battery life. I have to charge it every day!

I just got it about 3 days at the Sony store. When I went to T-mobile to buy a new sim card for it, the guy called everyone came to check out my phone. I have T-mobile as my carrier and the internet works well. Remember make a checked for "Mobile data traffic",if not you can't get internet.

This is a great design Android 4.0.1 based cell phone. Compare it with a Samsung Android based phone this phone looks much better from design point of view and is much less expensive than a similar Samsung or HTC cell phone. The phone is light and the screen size is perfect if you are not looking for a large screen like Samsung Note or Galaxy S3. The feel is pretty much like iPhone 4S, except that this is much lighter. The camera picture quality is also fair. The only problem that I had with this phone is that I had wi-fi problem from time to time. The phone had difficulty to reconnect to the wi-fi connections. Searching on the web and talking to a Sony customer service, I found out that this is a common problem with a few Sony cell phones recently and no one knows how to resolve it. So in spite of the fact that I was deeply in love with this phone I had to return it back!

Great phone for a great price, a couple of days in and everything is working flawlessly... expect the front camera, being a VGA, it only works outside in the daytime because of the light, if looking for a good phone with a excelent front camera, don't purchase this, besides that the phone is great.

The first one I purchased had problems: about once a week, the phone would cycle power in the middle of a phone conversation. Reading online, this seems to be a systematic problem (hardware?) to which there was no easy solution. After 3 weeks, requested a replacement from Amazon. Two weeks now and there has been no problems.

This was a very reasonably priced smartphone with dual SIM cards. I currently use it for my pay-go T-Mobile and later this month will try in the Philippines with a purchased SIM card there. I haven't explored all the features yet but have used Blue Tooth with my headphones and have installed the Audible app.The phone comes with many a number of apps already installed and GPS.

This is my first Android Phone. I thought that I would be overwhelmed with all of the Tech-Stuff, but it is very workable, and easy to use. Men will really enjoy this phone because of it's size. It's small enough to put into your pocket, and large enough to read APPS. The quality sounds really is a plus. I love to receive calls because I have one of my favorite songs as a ringtone, and too many to choose from because of downloads from my music from my computer.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the phone. It's lightweight and includes nice software—but the screen size was much smaller than expected...my biggest problem was that the touchscreen wouldn't properly recognize touch points, making it unusable. I'm happy to return the phone for an exchange of a working one, but other customers to be aware of these issues before making a purchase.

The phone's good, but it's not what I expected. It keeps shutting down sometimes and for you to get the FM radio to work, if the phon's been on for a while, you gotta turn it off and on again. The sensibility of the buttons is not good at all, you gotta press it a couple times before it works.
If you buy it in another country like I did (eg: live in Brazil, bought it in the US), Sony's authorized assistance does not provide any service, so I'll just hope it doesn't break.

The phone is great in its design, screen and everything already written by other reviewers. However I daily found 3 VERY annoying disadvantages: sound, camera speed and battery life. It is a Sony, I would have expected a much better sound and much more power volume! Hands free really sucks. It is useless in the car or in a conference call, volume is much too low.
Battery life is much too short, and to increase it I need to give up on most of the fancy specs. Seems it is very common with android phones.
The camera focus speed is infuriating !!!
I still recommend the phone and I rated with 3 stars because the above mentioned flaws are really big and annoying for me!

It is a great great cell phone with a very good price. The xperia is fast, cute and light. it works realy good in Venezuela with Digitel. I love it because his size and the light that change the color. The operative sistem is very well for a phone of low range, takes great pictures. The only negative is that it does not have space for external memory, however is not somthing limitng because his internal memory is 8gb. I have more than 1000 pictures, 200 songs, several apps and it work fine. I love it!

They are selling cell phones as NEW when those aren't, I bought this one, the seal was broken and cell phone was clearly used it was not new. I am so dissapointed that amazon allows sellers to advertise cell phones as new...don't remember the seller name, order was fullfiled by Amazon and Thank God it was, they refunded my money back really fast.
